And the 2025 District Sustainability Award goes to Electrify DC!
Destination DC President and CEO Elliott Ferguson, District Department of Energy and Environment Director Richard Jackson and Urban Sustainability Administration Deputy Director Maribeth DeLorenzo present the 2025 District Sustainability Award to the Electrify DC’s Vanessa Bertelli, Christie Poimboeuf and Donna Sheler
On March 26, 2025, Electrify DC was presented with the 2025 District Sustainability Award for its work to eliminate the 25% of emissions that come from our homes. We are SO proud!
Our mission has resonated with thousands of residents across the DC region. In partnership with the jurisdictions of the DMV, professional associations and community-based organization, we host the largest consumer-facing home decarbonization event in the country. The Healthy Homes Fair on May 10th at Catholic University allows homeowners, renters and home renovation professionals to learn about the best technologies, products and incentives to make it easier, faster and more affordable to decarbonize all homes. Our work matters to increase the health and safety of our homes, reduce energy waste and pollution in our communities, and ensure everyone can benefit in the process.
With federal funding being cut and the pressure on DC's budget, we urgently need philanthropic funding to meet the region's climate goals. We invite you to join us in this critical effort by supporting Electrify DC's work. Thank you and see you all at the Healthy Homes Fair!
Our heartfelt thanks to Department of Energy & Environment (DOEE) for its tireless work and this recognition, Destination DC for a flawless event and commitment to sustainability, and Embassy of France in the United States and Atout France - The France Tourism Development Agency for the inspiration!
