| With your support, in 2025 we: Held the second annual Healthy Homes Fair, attended by over 1,000 DC region residents, in partnership with the governments of the DC region, professional associations and nonprofits in the health and energy sectors. Won the 2025 District Sustainability Award for our work to eliminate the 25% of emissions that come from our homes, validating our efforts and creating momentum for the future of decarbonization in the District. Assisted over 100 DC region residents in electrifying their homes through one-on-one or group coaching, in partnership with the coaches at Go Electric DMV, which we are proud to fiscally sponsor as a program of Electrify DC! Made solar, EV chargers and batteries more accessible through 400 in-person interactions, thousands of website visits, and two TV segments as part of the inaugural edition of Sun Day in DC 2025 organized in partnership with some of the best nonprofits in this space. Gave hundreds of residents the chance to see, touch, and ask questions about heat pumps, induction stoves, electric water heaters, and more through our Demonstration Homes program in partnership with homeowners who've made the switch. Engaged with tenants around energy efficiency measures in partnership with multifamily building owners and DCSEU. Provided technical assistance to our regulators on increasing energy affordability and accelerating renewable energy adoption through our first report Welcomed new board and team members with expertise spanning the electrical grid, energy affordability, heating and air conditioning, communications, and consumer products, positioning us to scale our impact as we grow.

We’re energized by our wonderful partners and sponsors and are proud of the trust these forward-thinking governments put in us - the District of Columbia Department of Energy and Environment, the Maryland Energy Administration, the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments and EPA Region 3 Thriving Communities Grantmaking program. We are honored by the commitment to our mission by the Oak Hill Fund, Third Act, EarthJustice, Emerson Collective, and the Kresge Foundation.
At the heart of it, our impact is powered by champions like you. You rolled up your sleeves and partnered with us in whichever way you could on this journey towards healthier, cleaner communities for all. We are profoundly grateful and look forward to building more momentum together in 2026! |

| | From Gas Bills to Getting Paid: One Family's Electrification Journey |
Guest writers Mark and Nicole Kresowik take us through their journey electrifying their home, one appliance at a time.
We cut the cord with gas in May 2025, and now Pepco pays us! How? By switching all our appliances to efficient electric versions and installing solar panels on our rowhouse roof and detached garage. That’s the short answer, but it took hard work to get there, so we want to share our story to help make it easier for others. Here it goes!
Why We Electrified: Health First, Savings SecondFirst, why did we electrify? The financial benefits are significant, but they weren’t our biggest motivator. Health and safety were #1 - we had just moved into a new home for our growing family, and we didn’t want our kids breathing polluted indoor air, at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning or an explosion from a leaking gas line, or burns from the open fire on a gas stove. Adding solar panels was a no-brainer, allowing us to use the free energy of the sun to power our home and share the extra back to the grid. Good for the planet, good for our family, and good for our pocketbook - win-win-win. |
