Hi, my name is Sam, I am a DC resident who lives in the Brightwood neighborhood after moving from Columbia Heights. I have lived here with my family for the last 10 years and I have loved living in my current apartment for all these years.

Electrifying around town

Electrify DC kicked off DC Climate Week last month with energy coaching in a pub, worked with 19 sister organizations led by Casey Trees to organize a mayoral forum on environmental issues, shared energy affordability resources with residents of Congress Heights, and renters in Parkside, and engaged hundreds of families and young minds about distributed energy resources at DC Department of Public Works Touch Truck.

We also discussed grid storage, flexibility, and software at the U.S. Energy Transition Conference sharing the stage with giants such as Congressman Paul Tonko.

May 29 - 2026 DC Energy Action Summit

• The District of Columbia Energy Action Summit, hosted by the Public Service Commission of the District of Columbia, is an event dedicated to addressing rising energy costs, advancing conservation strategies, and expanding access to consumer assistance programs. Electrify DC will be present and tabling, come say hi!

June 11 - OPC, DCSEU, & OAG CTR on Your Doorstep

• A community-focused informational session designed to connect residents directly with key District resources. This free event will help you better understand your rights, avoid common scams, and take advantage of programs that support energy savings and workforce development.

Arlington Home Energy Hub

• Introducing the Arlington Home Energy Hub - a resource to help Arlington residents make their homes more energy efficient, healthier and powered by clean energy. Arlington residents can now explore a new webpage to learn about home energy upgrades and sign up to receive technical support from a Home Energy Coach.

Maryland Climate Catalytic Capital (C3) Fund

• The Maryland Clean Energy Center is now accepting applications for the Climate Catalytic Capital (C3) Fund. The fund offers financing through short-term bridge loans for geothermal and solar, revolving lines of credit for developers, and project feasibility grants for nonprofits. Maryland-based developers, municipalities, and community organizations are encouraged to apply.
