Could you be our next Strategic Growth and Operations Manager?

Our team is growing and we’re looking for an early senior hire to build the operational backbone of Electrify DC. Responsibilities include managing programs/events/pilots, owning budget and financial reporting to the board, building scalable systems and processes, coordinating across team/partners, and contributing to grant writing.

Requirements: 3+ years in program/project management (startup or scaling org experience a plus); strong organizational and budget skills; comfortable with ambiguity; plugged into or eager to join the DC climate community; proficient in Google Suite, Asana, and ideally Salesforce. Location: Remote, but must be based in the DC region— occasional in-person meetings required.

The Switch Together group-buying program, offered by our friends at Solar United Neighbors, provides DC region homeowners an average of $6,323 on a high-quality solar installation. The program also offers discounted prices for optional battery storage and EV chargers.

Households have until Wednesday, August 19, 2026 to register for the Switch Together program, which is offered in partnership with local jurisdictions.

Putting energy affordability first

Electrify DC’s Technical Lead, Romita Biswas explains why we urgently need action from our regulators during  a hearing earlier this month in front of the DC Public Service Commission.

Our demand for energy continues to grow faster than the energy we generate locally, causing DC region residents to become increasingly exposed to volatility resulting in dramatic increases in energy costs.

To secure a clean and affordable energy future that prioritizes long-term affordability, we need to:

• Modernize utility regulation — The current framework rewards utilities for building infrastructure, not for delivering affordable, efficient service. Electrify DC calls for performance-based regulation that ties utility earnings to actual customer outcomes.

• Expand distributed energy resources (DERs) — Rooftop solar alone won’t cut it in a region where over half of the population are renters. Plug-in balcony solar, plug-in batteries, and smart load devices are accessible alternatives that reduce grid strain without requiring roof ownership or costly upgrades.

• Broaden the definition of locally generated power — In addition to traditional solar, this should include plug-in solar and batteries to reward local power and reduce the need to procure it from far away at higher prices.

Become a demonstration home!

If you are in the process of electrifying your home, adding solar or an electric vehicle, consider helping this movement by sharing your journey with your community.

We are looking for Demonstration Homes in northern Virginia, central and southern Maryland, and DC.

Your home does not need to be perfect or fully electrified. The goal is to show many different decarbonization pathways and rationales for those journeys and provide an opportunity for people to come and see things, ask questions, and get connected with programs and contractors that can help them.
